The Fisher Women

Building Local Resilience together

A global initiative and documentary series following women building their communities through sustainable construction, healthcare access, and shared knowledge.

Teach a woman to fish and she teaches a community to thrive.

The Fisher Women is both a real-world program and a 3-part documentary series.

Our first three locations are Mexico, Fiji, and New Zealand, hosting sustainable building workshops and delivering medical aid for community health centers, resource hubs, and healing spaces.

At the same time, the series documents this transformative work as it unfolds.

Health and Habitat

Where Life Flourishes

Natural Building Education

In the wake of disasters, women are often left without safe places to gather, organize, and rebuild. Through hands-on workshops, we support local women in creating their own community spaces—using local materials and shared skills—so they can lead recovery, restore connection, and build resilience from within.

Health

Access to healthcare is often limited or disrupted in the communities we work with, especially after disaster. By providing essential supplies alongside practical health education, we help women care for themselves and their communities with greater confidence and independence.

Capturing the Heart of Transformation
